hi Lorraine,

ohh my how can you be left with no meds other than Painkillers.

can you contact your Rheumy Nurse ... i have a direct number and get to talk to her that day or within 24 hours.

if it were me i would make an appointment with my GP and get him on the case for me as i know he's a great support. although i know that wouldn't be the quickest route.

i know others will suggest other options for you, but i've never had to use them.

really hope you can get help soon,

feel for you.

Suzanne x

P.S. also a phone call to NRAS Helpline might help as to where to go next.

Hello Lorraine

I've often wondered how you were getting on.

You can't be left with no medication other that pain killers. I would see your GP and ask to be sent for an urgent appointment with a consultant. You've been diagnosed with RA and need something. At my hospital we have three consultants, hope there is more that one at yours. If not ask to be referred to another hospital.

Hope something gets sorted soon.

Keep in touch and tell us what happens.

Hi Lorraine

Sorry to hear you are having such problems. Three ways to go with this:-

1. Make urgent appointment with your GP, he could prescribe anti inflammatories, oral steroids or a depo-medrone injection.

2. Phone the PALS office at your local hospital. They should be able to get you a fast appointment with a rheumatologist,

3. Phone NRAS who I'm sure will support you in obtaining the treatment you need.

Good luck. Hope you feel better soon

Hi Lorraine - what a horrible time you have had. I had to change Rheumys after the 1st one reduced my dose of Plaquenil and refused any other treatment even though my blood markers kept rising. Just wondering where you live Lorraine? Hope you get proper treatment soon XX Ailsa

Hi Lorraine,

Sorry to hear you have been left without drugs. Why did you have to stop them?
I hope your GP can sort this out for you.

Love, Doreen xx
